The refried beans at taco night, viagra generic search growing up, were served straight from a can. I wasn’t a fan – they always reminded me of cat food. But I’m also not the type of person to spend hours making the real deal. So this is a quick and easy recipe I came up with. It’s delicious served on tacos and burritos, as a dip or even alone as a side dish. Try it out for your next taco night!
- 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 Onion
- 1 Cloves Garlic
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Powder
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/4 tsp Pepper
- 1 can Black Beans
- 1 cup Vegetable Broth
- Salt to taste
1. Finely dice onion and crush garlic. Sautée onion over medium heat in medium saucepan until translucent. Add garlic and sautée for 30 seconds. Add cumin, pepper and garlic powder and sautée for 30 more seconds.
2. Stir in beans and broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes.
3. On low heat, crush beans with a potato masher. Stir and mash until desired consistency (about 5-7 minutes). Add more broth, if needed.
4. Remove from heat and add salt to taste. Serve warm.
I hope you’re having a Cinco de Mayo feast tonight! If so, enjoy some beans for me, will ya? And please, for the love of delicious food everywhere, don’t use the canned ones.
Peace and Love,
