It’s Mother’s Day on Sunday! I can’t believe it’s already May and that we are coming close to the middle of the month. What the heck! I am not sure I’m ready for summer yet. Like, cialis sales online bathing suits? Oh boy. I better get my butt in gear and do some stuff. But, viagra sale honestly, I’ll probably just make another batch of donuts and catch up on Downton Abbey (I am now obsessed with that show, thanks Netflix).
I digress. Joyelle and I thought it would be fun to put together a sort of Mothers Day Gift Basket. I don’t know about you guys, but I love giving presents. I love being able to show someone that I adore them, through the magic of gifts. It doesn’t have to be a big present, but I think the thought that goes into giving someone something that you spent your time putting together is a nice thing. And what better time than Mothers Day to do something nice for the ladies in your life, amiright?
I feel pretty blessed with all of the powerful women I’ve been able to love in my life. They all inspire me to be a better more patient person, and hopefully, a good and patient momma one day. Whether or not these women are mom’s, I think making up and giving a gift basket to the women who in a way ‘mother’ you, whether a friend or sibling or your actual mom, is a special and beautiful way of saying thank you.
To make a lovely little basket we suggest gifting a nice set of delicious smelling candles that she wouldn’t normally buy herself. Also an adorable vase to store her favourite succulents in. The candles are from Welks and the vase is from Anthropologie.
Or how about a gorgeous recipe box from Rifle Paper Co? The young mom will be able to fill the cards that come with the box full of her most cherished recipes…plus – the partner in her life may be able to make her a special meal if she has her cherished recipes written down. Hint, hint!
We can’t forget about the hands and feet. Most moms are running around all day chasing after the little ones, so treat them to some decadent moisturizer and some pretty nail polish; so when she has a moment (hopefully she will!) she can pamper herself.
The last thing we added was a cozy blanket and some delicious tea. Cream of Earl Grey is the best tea on this planet, in my opinion, and she can cozy up after the kids go down and sip away (or eat these Cream of Earl Grey Donuts) while snuggling in her new blanket. That sounds pretty great to me!
And what to put it all in? We found a beautiful copper wire basket from Homesense. I am sure you can find something beautiful and useful – just have a look around!
Doesn’t that seem like the perfect gift for all the hard working moms out there? Treat the women in your life with a basket full of dreams (hah) and see her face light up when she realizes how much thought and effort you put into her day.
p.s. I often get asked if I am a mom ‘yet’. I guess I look like I should be having kids by now (oh age, your’e so kind). I am not a mom yet. I hope to be a mom one day and in the mean time I want to cherish the moms and non-moms around me equally. So if you are reading all these ‘Mothers Day’ posts and seeing all the Mothers Day pictures and it makes you feel a little sad – just know that on Mother’s Day I will be cherishing you, as well as the moms, as I think all women deserve a day of celebration.
This gift basket can be for anyone who deserves a little extra loving for all the hard work they do!
